We Asked ChatGPT If XRP Can Reach $5 Before Bitcoin Reaches $150K

XRP and Bitcoin both have big price targets being thrown around, but the distance to get there is wildly different. The XRP price is sitting around $1.37 right now. To hit $5, it would need to climb roughly 265%.

Bitcoin is trading near $77,324.61, so reaching $150,000 would require a gain of about 94%. That makes the comparison interesting. XRP could deliver a much bigger percentage move, but Bitcoin has a much shorter road to its target.

XRP and Bitcoin Have Very Different Mountains to Climb

We had a look at the XRP chart, and the price is at $1.3712 after gaining 1.09% on the daily candle. The main obstacle is still the descending trendline around $1.60.

There is some encouragement from the RSI. The reading is at 50.43, and the chart shows four bullish divergence labels. That means momentum has been improving even while the price stayed under pressure. The Ultimate Oscillator is at 38.73, which keeps the broader momentum picture neutral to bearish.

Bitcoin is in a similar spot near its own trendline. It’s trading at $77,324.61, up 0.16%, with resistance at $78,240.75. Its RSI is higher at 59.23, but there are still two bearish divergence readings on the chart. So both are showing mixed signals right now.

What Would It Take for XRP Price to Reach $5?

The XRP price has a lot of ground to cover. First, XRP needs to clear $1.60 and get back above that descending trendline. From there, the chart points to $1.80, $2.00, $2.20, $2.40, and $2.60 as the next resistance levels. The $2.60 zone matters most, that’s where the major high sits on the chart.

Even if XRP gets back there, another roughly 92% increase would still be needed to reach $5.

There are fundamental reasons for a stronger XRP price too. U.S. spot XRP ETFs had accumulated about $1.44 billion in net inflows by May 2026. The XRP Ledger is also preparing for the fixCleanup3_3_0 amendment, with its broader development roadmap targeting post-quantum security by 2028.

What Would It Take for Bitcoin Price to Reach $150K?

Bitcoin has a much smaller gap to close. It needs to rise about 94% from $77,324.61 to hit $150,000. The first hurdle is $78,240.75. If buyers clear that, the chart points to $90,000, then $100,000, and $110,000.

Bitcoin also has deep institutional demand behind it. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs hold about $101.2 billion in assets. And whales holding between 1,000 and 10,000 BTC have accumulated between 46,000 and 66,700 BTC in recent months. So the money is there.

The concern is network activity. Daily active addresses and smaller transactions have fallen, showing that retail participation has not kept pace with whale buying.

We Asked ChatGPT Which Target Comes First

ChatGPT gives Bitcoin the better chance of reaching its target first. The math is the biggest reason. Bitcoin needs about a 94% gain, compared with roughly 265% for XRP. Bitcoin also has $101.2 billion in spot ETF assets and strong whale accumulation behind it.

XRP has plenty of catalysts, especially ETF inflows and XRP Ledger upgrades, but the XRP price has several resistance levels to clear before $5 becomes realistic.

Could XRP Really Reach $5 Before Bitcoin Hits $150K?

It can happen, but XRP would need a much stronger percentage move. A break above $1.60 could send XRP toward $1.80, $2.00, $2.20, $2.40, and $2.60. And after reclaiming $2.60, it would still need to climb all the way to $5.

Bitcoin has a more direct path. A break above $78,240.75 would put $90,000, $100,000, and $110,000 on the chart before the market even has to think about the final push to $150,000.

Based on current prices, technical structure, and institutional flows, ChatGPT expects Bitcoin to hit $150,000 before the XRP price reaches $5. XRP has the potential for a larger percentage gain, but Bitcoin simply has less ground to cover.
