XRP is approaching a make-or-break moment, and traders might not have to wait long to see which way it goes. It’s trading at $1.36 at the time of writing, up 1.31% on the latest 8-hour candle, with buyers trying to push through $1.38.
Analyst Celal Kucuker thinks the next 3-hour candle could be the one to watch. He said if a candle opens above $1.38, it would break the current bull flag structure and could trigger a much bigger move for XRP, the price has been consolidating after running from $0.98 to $1.70, so everyone’s waiting to see if buyers can finally force the breakout.

The XRP Price Is Running Into a Major Resistance Zone
We had a look at the XRP chart shared by Celal, and the setup is one of the cleanest among the big caps right now. After running from $0.98474 up to $1.70040, XRP went into consolidation and formed a symmetrical triangle between roughly $1.29 and $1.38.

Patterns like this usually show up after a strong rally, buyers and sellers battling it out before the next move. Right now, XRP is trading just below the 0.618 Fibonacci retracement at $1.38016, which also lines up with the upper trendline of the triangle.
If buyers force a breakout above $1.38, the next big resistance is $1.51281, the 0.786 Fibonacci level. Above that, traders will be eyeing the previous rally high near $1.70. The longer-term target is even higher. Based on the height of the triangle and the prior rally from $0.98 to $1.70, the measured move points toward approximately $2.10 if the breakout is confirmed.
New Developments Are Helping the XRP Story
The technical picture is not the only thing traders are watching. BSCN reported that the Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation has registered options on the Evolve and Purpose XRP ETFs.

These contracts already trade on the Montréal Exchange, and the new registration creates a regulated route for eligible U.S. participants seeking exposure to XRP ETF options through Canada’s framework. The development expands access to XRP-related investment products and gives institutions another regulated vehicle tied to the asset.
All In Crypto also reported that Ripple is also broadening its enterprise offerings. Following its reported $1 billion GTreasury acquisition, the company has introduced governed AI agents into its enterprise treasury platform.

The system lets AI agents handle treasury-related tasks, but humans still have the final say on approvals. It ties digital assets, treasury operations, and AI together inside Ripple’s enterprise ecosystem. That gives the company another growth path beyond just cross-border payments.

Can XRP Finally Break Above $1.38?
XRP is trading just a hair below the level that could decide its next big trend. A breakout above $1.38 would confirm the triangle and bring $1.51 into view, followed by the previous high near $1.70. If momentum stays strong, the measured target near $2.10 for the XRP price becomes a real possibility.
On the bearish side, losing support at $1.29 would weaken the setup and expose $1.21 and $1.12 next. For now, traders are glued to one number: $1.38. If buyers finally clear that barrier, XRP could be setting up for its biggest move in weeks.
