Oyster Pearl (PRL) drama episode 2: The founder “Bruno” strikes back

Entertainment value of crypto market is frequently underappreciated aspect of this space. What do you get when you mix up hacks, exit-scams, amateurish teams and incompetent people – a reality show-like drama.

After the shocking revelation that PRL smart contract was changed to print 4 million additional tokens that were immediately dumped on Kucoin, an act carried out by the anonymous founder of the project “Bruno Block”, the rest of the team come forth with couple of updates and explanations of the situation. Now, it is Bruno’s turn to give his version of the story.

His statement on Reddit is pretty exhaustive and he is a “good guy” that was “forced” to do what he did by rotten team members, manipulative markets and wretched exchanges that collude with VCs to dump coins on gullible plebs. There is surely a lot of truth to what he is saying, however, it is hard to listen about moral tenets from a guy who just financially damaged a substantial number of people.

He called out couple of members of the Oyster team that didn’t in agreement with his vision of the project and his move was essentially a revenge to them as they wanted to pump the price with exchange listings before dumping the coins on the users. He beat them to it by changing the smart contract and collapsing the price.

Some of the highlights of his statement:

I advise all of you to get out of crypto. Go educate yourselves about what is happening with Tether. The entire crypto sphere is a giant Ponzi scheme. I warned all of you, multiple times, in private and public, and nobody listens. Ethereum is going back to $5, if you want to sell back to a greater fool then you will only find yourself to be that fool.

  1. I am going to program the protocol on my own, gradually. If someone wants to help me they can do so free of charge. No marketing, no nonsense.
  2. PRL will still be the valid token used by the protocol (no contract swap).
  3. I reject the Binance listing and I don’t want Kucoin to re-activate our listings.
  4. Focus on the storage peg, that is what brings value to the token, not your Ponzi-Shenanigans.

If you want to buy only to sell to a greater fool, then you are that greater fool. PRL and SHL are not to be listed on an exchange until they are actual functioning products. I will also consider revealing my identity over the next few days. I will be posting updates on development after I straighten out this situation.
