Injective Secures Regulatory Milestones for Tokenization in US

Injective is expanding its regulatory footprint in the United States as it pushes deeper into tokenized securities and institutional onchain finance.

The company said CEO Eric Chen recently met with officials from the White House, SEC and CFTC in Washington alongside members of Injective’s legal, policy and research teams.

The meetings come after several regulatory milestones that Injective says are helping build the infrastructure needed to bring tokenized assets into the U.S. financial system.

Injective Builds Regulated Infrastructure for Tokenized Assets

One of the biggest developments came in August, when Injective Institutional Services became registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as a transfer agent.

That allows the entity to support regulated ownership recordkeeping for securities, including maintaining records of who owns an asset and processing ownership changes.

Injective has also gained access to regulated U.S. derivatives markets.

INJ futures began trading on Bitnomial in April, giving institutional and retail investors access to INJ exposure through a CFTC-regulated designated contract market.

The company is now developing additional infrastructure for tokenized stocks, funds and other real-world assets.

Injective Mint, for example, is designed to support issuance, permissions, administration and settlement of tokenized assets onchain. The network has also been used in pilots involving tokenized commercial receivables and other institutional assets.

The latest Washington meetings do not mean Injective has received blanket regulatory approval for tokenized securities or other financial products.

However, the combination of an SEC-registered transfer agent, regulated INJ futures and continued direct engagement with U.S. policymakers gives Injective a stronger regulatory foundation than many blockchain projects pursuing the tokenization market.

The company’s broader goal is to position Injective as infrastructure for institutions that want to issue and manage financial assets onchain while operating within existing U.S. regulatory frameworks.
