Famous Crypto Journalist Reacts to $1,000 XRP Price Predictions

Crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett appears to have had enough of the extraordinary XRP price predictions circulating on social media.

In a recent X post, Terrett said her feed was dominated by two conversations: people arguing over who was responsible for the CLARITY Act’s failure to advance and posts promoting the idea that XRP could reach $1,000.

Rather than joining either debate, she joked that she was returning to her Yellowstone marathon.

Her reaction comes as XRP trades around $1.45, making the $1,000 target an extraordinary proposition.

Who Is Eleanor Terrett, and Why Does Her Reaction Matter?

Terrett is a cryptocurrency journalist and host of Crypto in America, a program covering digital assets, financial regulation and Washington’s approach to the industry. She regularly reports on developments involving the SEC, Congress and crypto market structure legislation.

That background makes her reaction particularly relevant to XRP holders, who have followed regulatory developments closely for years.

However, her post should not be mistaken for a detailed price analysis. Terrett did not calculate XRP’s potential valuation or publish a bearish forecast. She was expressing frustration with the repetitive arguments and increasingly ambitious predictions filling her feed.

The timing is notable. The CLARITY Act recently failed to clear a procedural hurdle in the Senate, creating another round of debate over the future of US cryptocurrency regulation.

Why a $1,000 XRP Price Is Extremely Difficult to Justify

The biggest problem with a $1,000 XRP prediction is the valuation it would imply.

According to CoinDesk’s current market data, approximately 62.88 billion XRP are circulating, with a maximum supply of 100 billion tokens.

Here’s what those supply figures mean:

XRP priceImplied circulating market cap*
$10$628.8 billion
$100$6.29 trillion
$500$31.44 trillion
$1,000$62.88 trillion

Calculated using approximately 62.88 billion circulating XRP.

At $1,000 per token, XRP’s circulating market capitalization would approach $63 trillion. Its fully diluted valuation, using the maximum supply, would reach $100 trillion.

From a price near $1.45, reaching $1,000 would also require an increase of roughly 690 times, or nearly 69,000%.

Those figures explain why the prediction is so difficult to support under current market conditions. It would require an extraordinary expansion in XRP’s valuation, far beyond what ordinary crypto adoption or a favorable regulatory development could reasonably establish on its own.

There is an important distinction: market capitalization is not the amount of money that must flow directly into an asset for its price to rise. Nevertheless, it remains a useful measure of the scale of valuation implied by a price target.
