TapJet to add LTC and XRP as additional payment options

Tap Jets, an application used in Airline travel, recently posted on their twitter page that the company will be accepting cryptocurrency as a payment method. Eugene Kesselman, the CEO of TapJets has approved Verge [XVG], Ripple [XRP], and Litecoin [LTC] for the poll. And XRP and LTC won the poll that had over 700k impressions with almost 40k votes.

XRP received 44% of the votes and LTC came second with 38%. XVG, although known for it strong community, couldn’t cope with the crypto giants and landed on the last, third spot with 21% of votes.

Kesselmann stated on their official blog page:

We are obsessed with making TapJets user experience as simple as possible.  When we decide to accept a new payment method, we have to make sure that our 18,000+ users have minimal impact to theirs in-app user experience, and the exchange rate is accurate and accounts for all of the fees.

People have voted, and we have heard their feedback.  TapJets will proceed to the technical evaluation of Ripple (XRP) and Litecoin (LTC).  We plan to complete our assessment that includes API testing, exchange transaction testing, and other validations by May 28, 2018.

Some of this activity would depend on how agile development teams of XRP/LTC are to our requests.    It is our goal to allow TapJets clients to use these alt-coins on June 1, 2018.

He also gave a shoutout to the Verge supporters, noting that they have forced TapJet to reconsider its UX so it can integrate more altcoins in its payment system.

The poll results were as expected, given that both LTC and XRP have much larger communities and are generally more known in the non-crypto world as well. They are also more stable in terms of price so the decision to go with these 2 is not surprising.

News like this are very encouraging in the weeks when the market is in decline and no reversal is in sight. Adoption and technological advances is the goal that will eventually force the prices of coins up as well.
