The authorized issuance of USDT on the TON chain has just smashed $1 billion. According to Tether’s official page, the current figure stands at an impressive $1,030,000,002. This total is divided into two key components: an authorized unissued amount of approximately $309,325,516.46 and a net circulation of around $720,674,485.54.
This comes on the heels of Tether’s recent expansion onto TON; On April 19, 2024, Tether announced the launch of its USDT (Tether USD) and XAU₮ (Tether Gold) on TON, marking a step in the stablecoin’s growth. With this addition, Tether is now available on a total of 15 blockchains, further solidifying its position as a leading stablecoin in the crypto ecosystem.
One of the most exciting aspects of this integration is its potential impact on mainstream adoption. The partnership allows users to engage in peer-to-peer (P2P) payments directly within the Telegram messaging platform. With Telegram’s 900 million users globally, this integration opens up a vast new market for cryptocurrency transactions.
