Ethereum has failed to impress investors since its recent Shanghai upgrade to a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism according to JPMorgan analysts. This shift away from proof-of-work has been dubbed disappointing as it centralized control into the hands of the few largest holders of ETH.
Proof-of-stake allows token holders to validate transactions and mint new blocks based on the number of coins they already hold. This means the rich get richer, and small players are pushed out of the validation process. Ethereum has further disappointed by needing secondary layer-2 scaling solutions to increase transaction capacity.

As Ethereum falters, a newcomer rises to claim the throne. Kaspa (KAS) is a cryptocurrency that solves the issues of decentralization, scalability, and security without compromising.
Firstly, Kaspa remains faithful to fair and decentralized proof-of-work mining. Any Kaspa holder can mine and earn block rewards, preventing centralization.
Secondly, Kaspa has broken scalability records with its GhostDAG infrastructure. Currently processing 1 block per second, with planned upgrades to 10 blocks per second in the near future and 100 blocks per second as a long-term goal. This equals approximately 300, 3000, and 30,000 transactions per second. Compare this to Ethereum’s 10 second block time and Kaspa is leagues ahead when it comes to scalability.
Finally, Kaspa excels at security. With rapidly growing hashrate, currently approximately 25PH/s and increasing daily, Kaspa is becoming ever more secure.
The market is taking notice of this plucky newcomer, with the KAS price reacting well with a healthy 20% uptick just this month. As developers continue to expand the utility of the Kaspa blockchain and achieve planned performance upgrades, the future looks bright.
Kaspa represents the next evolution in blockchain technology and cryptocurrency. For investors looking for decentralization, scalability, security, and growing utility, Kaspa (KAS) is worth keeping an eye on.
