In a recent analysis, cryptocurrency analyst Crypto Mason argues that Hedera Hashgraph (HBAR) has major potential to become a dominant enterprise blockchain network.
A key advantage highlighted is Hedera’s governance model. The Hedera network is governed by the Hedera Governing Council, which consists of major corporations from diverse industries. Council members act as the initial nodes powering the network. Importantly, council membership rotates over time as term limits expire.
According to Crypto Mason, this governance structure makes Hedera perhaps the first “Enterprise DAO.” By joining the council, corporations become part-owners of Hedera LLC. They run nodes and govern the network’s development. However, no single company fully controls Hedera, as membership rotates.
The video cites Google as an example. Google Cloud has been on Hedera’s governing council for years running a node. This gives Google partial ownership and decision-making abilities. However, Google’s term will eventually expire, ensuring no permanent control.
Crypto Mason argues this hybrid model of corporate and community governance could be ideal for enterprise blockchain adoption. Major corporations are more likely to build on a network governed by peer companies rather than anonymous community members. The rotating terms prevent monopolization while still leveraging corporations’ resources.
The video also highlights Hedera’s technical capabilities including high transaction speeds, low fees, and built-in smart contract functionality. With both a robust governance model and strong technology, Hedera seems well-positioned for mainstream enterprise and government adoption.
Crypto Mason admits philosophical reservations about corporations like Google participating in Web 3.0. However, he concludes their presence on Hedera could significantly boost HBAR’s value. As more major companies join the council to run nodes, usage and demand for HBAR may increase.
For investors bullish on HBAR’s long-term potential, Crypto Mason recommends staking through the Hashpack wallet. He specifically advises staking with the Swirlds node, as Swirlds is a permanent governing council member. By taking part in Hedera’s hybrid corporate-community governance, investors can benefit from any future growth.
