As the separation between reality and gaming world blurs by day, many are convinced that the first blockchain killer app will be a gaming dApp. Both EOS and Ethereum blockchain, two leading dApp platforms at the moment, are dominated by either gaming or gambling apps. VeChain has its own horse for this race and its name is Plair.
Plair aims to create a highly interactive gaming ecosystem in which users are rewarded for their respective participation, performance and contributions and it is the first ICO launched on VeChain blockchain.
Plair has put a lot on its own plate: community management and communication tools, in-game wagering, analytic tools such as cross-platform AI matchmaking, a true amatuer eSports market is about to be unleashed.
Plair came out with their first product demo and it looks really promising:
The platform will run on VeChain so VET holders like it as it will burn VTHO tokens. Although some of them question the viability of using blockchain for this type of a game.
The whole ICO was scrutinized and didn’t fare to well in the VeChain community.
“Read through, still find the ICO pretty ridiculous. An esports platform that hasnt even entered the market or even has any adoption is selling only 25% of total token supply for $30m
Cool its the first Vechain ICO but do not see that as a reason to invest people, im staying far away
Also dont like the high focus on the fundraising. The website isnt even live yet (coming June) and whitepaper isnt either, yet they still want 30m. This is not specifically a problem with this ICO, just the ICO landscape in general. How can you even consider this a valid investment?” were the words of one Redditor back as the ICO was announced. And his opinion was widely echoed by others in the community.
Another Reddit user stated:
“Hate to say this but Sunny’s choice of the 1st ICO on the platform seems to be a bad one !!!!”
Ignoring the relatively grim sentiment about Plair, VeChain community is still upbeat over the development speed of the entire ecosystem. First dApp will be live on VeChain next week, as DecentBET launches their gambling platform.
