A new conversation in the Ripple XRP community started after analyst John Squire said the number of people retiring early because of XRP could be “crazy.”
His point is that if XRP keeps growing in adoption, especially with more companies using it for payments and the new wave of XRP ETFs piling in, even small holdings today could become surprisingly valuable in the long run.
Right now, the XRP price trades around $2.20, but the discussion is all about where it could be ten or fifteen years from now.

How Much Could 5,000 XRP Be Worth?
Buying 5,000 XRP today costs about $11,000, which many investors see as a realistic long-term position. The future value depends on which forecast you believe.
Some conservative models, like Telegaon’s, see the XRP price reaching $80–$120 between 2035 and 2040. If that happened, 5,000 XRP would be worth $400,000–$600,000, which is enough to cover retirement for many people around the world.
More bullish predictions from Changelly suggest a move toward $150–$200, putting 5,000 XRP somewhere between $750,000 and $1 million.
Then there’s the very bullish scenario. Analyst Matthew Brienen believes the XRP price could one day reach $1,000 if it becomes a core asset in global payments.
In that case, a 5,000-XRP bag would be worth $5 million. That’s where the “crazy amount of early retirements” idea comes from.
Prominent XRP commentator John Squire recently argued that the number of people retiring early because of XRP could be “crazy.”

Squire’s comment strengthens the belief that XRP’s future growth could significantly reshape the financial outlook of many holders. This optimism rests…
What 10,000 XRP Could Look Like in the Future
A 10,000 XRP position costs about $22,000 at today’s price. Only around 4% of XRP wallets hold that much or more, which is why analysts call this a “luxury reserve.”
If the XRP price reached Telegaon’s conservative target of $120, that position would be worth $1.2 million.
If XRP hit the mid-range scenario of $150–$180, the value climbs to $1.5 million or higher.
And in the most optimistic scenario, Changelly’s peak forecast of $1,400, 10,000 XRP would be worth over $14 million.
These numbers explain why some analysts think many holders could end up retiring far earlier than expected.

Why This Discussion Is Gaining Traction Now
This isn’t happening in a vacuum. Multiple spot XRP ETFs have launched recently, and they are buying large amounts of supply. Canary Capital and Bitwise purchased over $400 million worth of XRP, and new ETFs from Grayscale and Franklin Templeton added more than $120 million this week.
Some analysts even predict $10 billion in inflows soon, which would be a massive catalyst. On top of that, more companies are starting to use XRP as a treasury asset. Many believe the current price still doesn’t reflect how big XRP’s role in global payments could become over the next decade.
Moreover, no one can guarantee the XRP price will reach triple-digit, but the combination of ETF demand, real-world adoption, and long-term confidence is creating a new wave of optimism.
That’s why Squire thinks the number of early retirements caused by XRP could be much higher than people expect.
