Cardano’s Midnight Price Recovers as Charles Hoskinson Teases “Huge Things” Ahead

Cardano’s Midnight token got beat down bad. It dropped over 25% in a week. People panicked because of that Wanchain bridge exploit. But here’s the good part: the Midnight chain itself never got touched. The team confirmed that.

Today, buyers showed up. The Midnight price is up about 10%. And then Charles Hoskinson came out and said his piece. Called Midnight an ecosystem with “real value.” Said there’s “huge things” coming. That matters to people. Whether you like him or not, when he talks, people listen.

So you’ve got three things happening at once: people buying the dip, exchanges stepping in to steady things, and a big name backing the project. That’s enough to pull NIGHT off its rock bottom.

Wanchain Bridge Exploit Triggers NIGHT Price Crash Before Buyers Step In

On July 21, somebody broke into the Wanchain bridge, the thing that connects Cardano to BNB Chain. They made off with 515 million NIGHT tokens. That’s about $13 million gone, just like that.

The market freaked. People sold first and asked questions later. But here’s the thing people missed at first: Midnight’s own blockchain? Totally fine. The breach happened on Wanchain’s side, not on Midnight. The protocol kept running like nothing happened.

Once that fact sank in, buyers came back. They saw the dip and jumped in. The price bounced back within hours.

Exchanges helped too. Binance, OKX, Kraken, they all moved fast. Froze the hacker’s wallets. Stopped deposits and withdrawals for NIGHT. That cut off the thief’s escape route. Out of the 515 million stolen, about 225 million never even made it to the open market. That took the pressure off. The selling stopped. The price steadied.

Charles Hoskinson Says Midnight’s Future Remains Strong

Confidence received another boost after Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson addressed the incident.

Responding after NIGHT began recovering, Hoskinson said the exploit did not change Midnight’s underlying value. He called the network a strong project, good tech, a real plan to make money, seasoned people running it. And he said “huge things” are on the way.

He didn’t say what those things are. Or when. But for a lot of investors, just hearing that was enough. It told them work hasn’t stopped, even with the bridge mess.

For traders, the statement matters because it separates the temporary security issue affecting bridge infrastructure from Midnight’s broader development roadmap.

What Is the Midnight Price Chart Showing?

We had a look at the chart, and momentum has improved after the steep decline. Right now, the token is going for about $0.172. That’s up from last week’s sell-off.

The stochastic oscillator is at 67.28. It’s getting warm, but not hot yet. Still room to run. Another one, the Ultimate Oscillator, is at 46.89. That tells us buyers are showing up more than before, but nobody’s going crazy yet.

Price just climbed back above $0.170. That level used to be resistance, now it’s acting like a floor. The next wall is $0.175 to $0.180.

Every time price tried to break that in the past, sellers jumped in and pushed it back down. If it punches through, then we could see $0.190 or even $0.195, where the Midnight price was back in early July.

Can the Cardano Midnight Price Recover Its Recent Losses?

What happens next with NIGHT comes down to one thing: can buyers keep this going?

For things to turn up, price needs to stay above $0.170 and push past that $0.175–$0.180 wall. If more buyers keep piling in, helped by the exchanges stepping up and Hoskinson’s boost, then $0.190 is on the table.

But if sellers show up and reject that resistance, watch out. Losing $0.170 could send the Midnight price back to test $0.160. And if selling picks up again, last week’s bottom comes back into play.

Right now, this feels like a relief bounce, not the real thing. We’re not in reversal territory yet. The technical indicators have improved, but they have yet to show strong bullish momentum.

The next few trading sessions, along with updates from Wanchain’s investigation and any recovery plan for affected users, will likely determine whether the NIGHT price can reclaim more of its weekly losses.
