Bitcoin and XRP Price Predictions for Today (October 21)

Bitcoin enters October 21 after a surprisingly volatile session.

BTC first pushed above $83,000, then lost momentum and dropped back toward $82,000 before recovering again. At the latest reading on the Binance two-hour chart, Bitcoin was trading around $82,372, with a 24-hour high near $83,420 and a low around $81,146.

XRP followed a more constructive path. It recovered from the recent $1.255 low and traded around $1.318, up roughly 1% over 24 hours. The move has improved momentum, although XRP is still well below the $1.40-$1.50 region that controlled price earlier this month.

Bitcoin: Momentum Improves, but $83K-$84K Still Needs to Break

Bitcoin’s two-hour chart has become more interesting after several days of consolidation around $80,000-$83,000.

The October 15 low near $79,732 remains the most important recent structural low. BTC has now bounced from that area multiple times without revisiting it, which gives buyers something to work with.

Momentum indicators are improving too.

Short RSI is around 63.5, with the medium and longer readings near 57.8 and 53.9. All three are above 50, showing that the latest recovery has real momentum behind it.

MACD has also turned constructive. DIF is around 63.4, DEA near 24.7 and the histogram approximately 77.2. That positive histogram shows upside momentum has strengthened compared with the flat readings seen during the weekend.

CCI is around 61.5, another moderately bullish reading without indicating an overheated market.

There is still an important positioning issue.

The net-long panel remains negative near -36.7K, whereas net shorts are around 7.9K. Long positioning has improved from its recent lows, but it has not returned to a convincingly bullish configuration.

Price therefore needs to do more than simply trade above $82,000.

Bitcoin Price Prediction for October 21

The first resistance zone I would watch is $83,400-$84,000.

A clean move through that area could bring approximately $85,000 into focus, followed by the previous highs around $86,000-$87,000.

If Bitcoin fails again around $83,000-$84,000, $81,000-$81,500 becomes the first support region.

The more important floor remains around $79,700-$80,000.

My short-term roadmap is:

$82K holds → $83.4K-$84K → $85K-$86K.

If $81K fails instead, another test of $80K becomes much more likely.

For October 21, my base case is continued consolidation with a slight bullish bias, roughly between $81,500 and $84,000.

XRP: Buyers Are Finally Showing More Strength

XRP’s chart has improved more noticeably.

The token is trading around $1.318 after recovering from the October 18-19 low near $1.2553.

That recovery has pushed all three visible RSI readings higher. Short RSI is around 69.4, medium RSI near 61.8 and longer RSI around 54.1.

Short RSI is now approaching overbought territory, so XRP could easily experience a temporary pullback after the latest push. But unlike earlier October rebounds, momentum is now positive across multiple RSI windows.

MACD supports that interpretation.

DIF is approximately 0.0028, DEA 0.0007 and the histogram around 0.0041. All are modest numbers, but the important part is direction: momentum has flipped back to the positive side.

CCI is much hotter at approximately 151.6.

That indicates strong short-term momentum, but it also tells me XRP may be getting stretched after the move from $1.255.

Positioning remains less convincing.

Net longs are still deeply negative near -350.7 million, whereas net shorts are around 389.8 million. Shorts remain dominant in absolute terms, even as price has started recovering.

That creates an interesting setup. If XRP continues rising, some of those short positions could eventually add fuel to the move through covering. But the data does not prove that such a squeeze has started.

XRP Price Prediction for October 21

The immediate resistance zone is around $1.33-$1.35.

XRP already traded as high as roughly $1.346 over the past 24 hours, so that area has clearly attracted sellers.

A convincing break above $1.35 could open $1.38-$1.40.

Above $1.40, the structure improves considerably and the next target would move toward approximately $1.45.

On the downside, I would watch $1.30 first.

If XRP cannot hold that level, $1.28 becomes relevant again, followed by $1.255-$1.26.

So my October 21 roadmap is:

$1.30 holds → $1.35 → $1.38-$1.40.

A loss of $1.28 would weaken the entire recovery and bring $1.255 back into play.

My base-case range for the day is approximately $1.29-$1.36.

Macro News Could Decide Whether the Recovery Continues

Crypto enters October 21 with two competing macro narratives.

The first is geopolitics.

Reports of progress toward a U.S.-Iran agreement initially improved risk appetite, but the situation remains unresolved. Reuters reported on October 20 that Tehran continues to offer a ceasefire proposal through Qatari mediation, yet negotiations remain difficult and no comprehensive settlement has been confirmed.

That means any credible ceasefire announcement could still be supportive for Bitcoin and XRP by reducing oil-related inflation fears and improving demand for risk assets. But renewed tension could reverse that trade quickly.

The second issue is the Federal Reserve.

A Reuters poll conducted between October 16 and 20 found that 94 of 100 economists expect the Fed to leave rates unchanged at its October 27-28 meeting. However, all respondents expected another increase in December, with inflation still proving difficult to control.

Treasury yields eased slightly on October 20, with the U.S. 10-year yield around 5.12% after a strong Japanese bond auction helped global fixed-income markets.

That is mildly supportive for crypto, but yields remain historically high.

So October 21 begins with better technical momentum for both BTC and XRP, but neither asset has fully escaped its recent range.

For Bitcoin, $84,000 is the level that can turn a bounce into something larger.

For XRP, that level is closer to $1.35.
