This Analyst’s Bitcoin Price Prediction Could Surprise the Bears

Bitcoin price is trading around $80,400 following a recovery from its recent decline toward $75,000. The rebound has brought BTC back above an important technical indicator, and crypto analyst Doctor Profit believes it could mark the end of the bear market.

In his latest Sunday report, Doctor Profit argues that Bitcoin’s recovery above the 50-week moving average resembles a pattern that appeared around the 2022–2023 market bottom. He is now targeting $88,000, although BTC must overcome another resistance zone before that forecast comes into focus.

Doctor Profit Says Bitcoin’s Bear Market Is Over

Doctor Profit’s central argument revolves around Bitcoin’s 50-week moving average, which he places near $78,700.

According to the analyst, BTC repeatedly struggled to overcome this indicator during recent weeks, prompting some traders to anticipate another substantial decline. However, Bitcoin recovered after briefly falling toward $75,000 and has now moved back above the moving average.

Doctor Profit describes the decline as a bear trap: a move that appeared to confirm further downside before reversing and catching bearish traders off guard.

He compares the setup with Bitcoin’s recovery from the 2022 bear market. His historical chart shows BTC making several attempts to reclaim its 50-week moving average in early 2023 before eventually breaking above it and continuing higher.

The analyst also claims that five of Bitcoin’s seven historical recoveries above this moving average following a breakdown were followed by bull markets. That statistic comes from his own analysis and has not been independently verified here.

For Doctor Profit, a weekly close above $78,700 would provide further confirmation that Bitcoin has entered a new bullish phase.

However, reclaiming a moving average does not establish that a bear market has ended. The historical comparison is a potential technical analogy, not proof that Bitcoin will repeat its previous recovery.

Bitcoin Price Chart: Why $83K Is the Next Major Test

Doctor Profit’s daily chart shows Bitcoin recovering from a recent low near $75,000 after several unsuccessful attempts to break above its descending 50-week moving average.

The latest rebound has pushed BTC toward $80,400, placing it above the moving average near $78,700.

This is an encouraging development for the analyst’s bullish interpretation, but the chart also reveals an important obstacle.

Bitcoin remains below the resistance region around $82,000–$83,000, where previous advances have struggled. Doctor Profit identifies a breakout above $82,500–$83,000 as the stronger confirmation that buyers have regained control.

If BTC clears that area, his next target is $88,000, representing approximately 9.5% upside from $80,400.

The chart’s projected green arrows illustrate two possible paths toward that target. They are forecasts drawn by the analyst, not price movements that have already occurred.

Key levelBitcoin priceSignificance
Analyst’s target$88,000Approximately 9.5% above $80,400
Major resistance$82,500–$83,000Breakout zone Doctor Profit wants BTC to clear
Immediate resistance$81,000–$82,000Recent trading ceiling
50-week moving average$78,700Key level for the analyst’s bullish thesis
Near-term support$75,000–$76,000Recent rebound area
Deeper support$70,000–$71,000Lower boundary of the broader trading structure

The $75,000–$76,000 region is particularly important because it marks the area where buyers recently returned.

If Bitcoin loses $78,700 again, the moving-average breakout could prove temporary. A subsequent decline below $75,000 would further weaken the bear-trap interpretation and put the lower portion of the trading range back in focus.

One limitation of the historical comparison is that the chart on the right displays Bitcoin’s 2022–2023 recovery, not the current market. The two periods share some visual characteristics, but differences in liquidity, macroeconomic conditions and market structure could produce different outcomes.

Could Bitcoin Price Reach $88,000 Next?

Doctor Profit maintains that Bitcoin’s recovery above its 50-week moving average is a major bullish development. He expects the cryptocurrency to break through $82,000–$83,000 in the coming days and subsequently move toward $88,000.

The immediate test is whether BTC can hold above approximately $78,700 through the weekly close. That would strengthen his technical argument, although it would not guarantee a sustained rally.

A breakout above $83,000 would then provide a clearer path toward the analyst’s target.

On the other hand, another rejection near $82,000 followed by a loss of the moving average would raise the possibility that Bitcoin remains trapped in its broader trading range.

For now, Doctor Profit’s $88,000 prediction depends on two developments: Bitcoin defending the reclaimed 50-week moving average and finally breaking through the $82,500–$83,000 resistance zone.
