For a long time it has been quiet around the crypto currency Verge – a hack here and there, but nothing positive. Yesterday, the first official Verge Meetup took place in Amsterdam, bringing all Verge supporters together in one place. Independently of this, Verge’s team has announced that it is testing RSKSmart to assess potential integration.
And although this will be taken as “big” news in the narrow-minded XVG tribe, this is far from any news at all. STARTING TO TEST something is easy – once you have actual experts implementing something and not some fanboys and professional shillers talking about it, then you can say it is a positive news from your camp.
So, this is just more fluff and no substance from Verge, just like we’re used to it.
Now back to XVG story, as narrated by them …
The first meeting of the Verge Community in Amsterdam was a complete success according to the organizers and brought all Verge supporters together at one big table. The following video shows the one-hour presentation of the Verge team.
The meeting praised the success to date and also announced that three new partnerships have been established or NDAs (non-disclosure-agreement) have been signed. Nevertheless, no concrete indications were given as to which companies these could be.
A new partnership will probably be the RSKSmart smart contract platform, whose integration the Verge team has already been actively testing for a week.
We have engaged with @RSKsmart and started a dialogue and begun testnet a week ago.
"RSK is the most secure smart contract platform. We will be integrating them directly into Verge Currency" –@justinvendetta

Verge chief developer Justin Vendetta aka Sunerok explained that RSK is to be integrated directly into the crypto currency and that the rootstock (RSK) is one of the most secure smart contract platforms worldwide. Further details are not yet known.
RSK is an open source smart contract platform with a 2-way connection to Bitcoin that also rewards Bitcoin miners and allows them to actively participate in the smart contract revolution.
RSK’s goal is to add value and functionality to the Bitcoin ecosystem by providing smart contracts, near instant payments and greater scalability.
Integration is currently being tested by Verge developers to evaluate the potential benefits of RSK for the Verge ecosystem. It remains to be seen how quickly and whether integration will actually take place.
Like the short flash crash, Verge’s share price fell by 13 percent to $0.03 per coin. With a market capitalization of almost $462 million, Verge ranks 34th among the world’s largest crypto currencies.
