SUI Launches Asset Transfers on Mercado Bitcoin in Brazil

Sui is expanding into Brazil through Mercado Bitcoin, giving millions of local users direct access to assets built on the network.

Mercado Bitcoin has become the first exchange in Brazil to support Sui asset transfers. Its 4.5 million clients can now buy, sell, send and receive SUI, USDC and USDsui.

The expansion goes beyond basic token trading.

USDsui is also becoming available as lending collateral for Mercado Bitcoin customers, opening another route into Sui-based financial products.

Mercado Bitcoin is additionally exploring an integration with Hashi, Sui’s native Bitcoin infrastructure, once it reaches mainnet. That could eventually allow Brazilian users to use native BTC for lending and borrowing through applications built on Sui.

Hashi is expected to launch with more than $500 million in committed capital and is designed to let Bitcoin serve as collateral in lending, borrowing, credit and other financial products without requiring users to sell their underlying BTC.

Mercado Bitcoin Brings Tokenized Assets to Sui

Another important part of the partnership involves real-world assets.

Mercado Bitcoin plans to bring its CVM- and BCB-regulated RWA platform to Sui. The exchange says it has issued more than 800 tokenized assets since 2019 across areas including credit, lending and real estate.

Those assets can connect directly with Brazil’s existing payment infrastructure, allowing investors to move between Brazilian reais and tokenized assets around the clock.

For Sui, the integration expands its reach into one of Latin America’s largest crypto markets while also adding another institutional use case around stablecoins, tokenization and Bitcoin-backed finance.

The timing also fits Sui’s broader push into digital payments. The network already supports gasless transfers for several stablecoins, including USDC and USDsui.

Mercado Bitcoin’s integration therefore gives Sui more than another exchange listing.

It provides a direct route to millions of Brazilian users and connects the network to lending, stablecoins, tokenized real-world assets and potentially native Bitcoin finance.
