Shiba Inu (SHIB) Price News: Security Warnings, FameEX Volatility, and Why Traders Are Staying Cautious

The SHIB price is trading around $0.00000448, and it has been a surprisingly busy week for Shiba Inu. Traders watched a brief jump above $0.00001 on the Australian exchange FameEX, a sudden meme-token rally involving BABYSHIB, and a fresh round of security warnings from Shibburn aimed directly at SHIB holders.

What stands out to me is that these events are pulling the market in two different directions. Speculative interest is clearly still alive around the Shiba Inu ecosystem, but the security warnings and the weak broader market are keeping many traders on the defensive.

Shibburn Is Telling SHIB Holders to Be Careful

TheCryptoBasic reported that Shibburn has been warning the community about several types of scams that continue to circulate in 2026. The warnings mention fake airdrops, malicious smart contracts, attempts to steal seed phrases and private keys, guaranteed-return investment offers, and promotional content that is presented as independent reporting.

The fake-airdrop warning is especially important for SHIB holders. Fake SHIB-related tokens can appear directly in a wallet and look legitimate, but interacting with the associated contract can grant dangerous permissions to scammers.

Shibburn also reminded users that legitimate support teams will never ask for a seed phrase or private key, so any request for those credentials should be treated as a major red flag. The context here is an already eventful year for security incidents in cryptocurrencies within exchanges, wallets, and DeFi.

The FameEX Spike Above $0.00001 Was Extremely Short-Lived

The most significant event involving price action was provided by FameEX listing SHIB/USDT trading on August 11, 2026, at 10:00 UTC. Not long after the start of trading, SHIB price reached $0.00001004.

At first sight it may seem like it was a significant breakout. Unfortunately, it vanished in no time at all. According to the FameEX information, the SHIB price fell to $0.00000442 and traded around $0.00000445 within the day, representing a 55.48% fall over the 24-hour period. The volume of trading on FameEX was $430,240.

This looks much more like a thin-liquidity listing event than a genuine market-wide rally. New trading pairs often have shallow order books, so relatively small orders can create outsized price swings. The broader SHIB market never held anywhere near $0.00001004.

BABYSHIB Is Reminding Everyone How Fast Meme Tokens Can Move

Simultaneously, BABYSHIB surged to more than 1,300% in just 24 hours, with some reports even citing gains exceeding 2,000% in the process. The market cap of this token stands at around $477,000, which is why it can be termed as a very small-cap crypto token.

BeInCrypto linked the rally to support from members of the original SHIB community and to social-media attention after the Shibtoken account followed Thebabyshib. The chart showed a near-vertical rise followed by a rapid reversal, which is exactly the kind of price action traders expect from very small meme tokens.

Shibburn’s latest data showed that only 2.03 million SHIB were burned over the past 24 hours, worth roughly $9, and the daily burn rate fell by nearly 40%. The weekly burn total was 32.85 million SHIB, and the 30-day burn total reached 3.34 billion SHIB.

Those numbers are useful for tracking community activity, but they are still tiny relative to SHIB’s massive circulating supply. The slowdown in daily burns means the burn narrative is not providing a strong short-term catalyst for the SHIB price right now.

So What Happens Next for SHIB?

The SHIB price is going to battle with weakness in the market. SHIB had fallen by about 8.81% in the past seven days and about 1.13% in the past 24 hours, and its market cap was approximately $2.62 billion.

The temporary FameEX spike shows how an event involving only an exchange can generate large volatility, but ultimately the market refused to sustain prices above $0.00001. The security warnings show that retail traders remain vulnerable to scams, and the slower burn rate removes one of the more popular bullish talking points.

My takeaway is pretty simple: SHIB is entering a phase where traders need to separate short-term exchange volatility and meme-token excitement from the actual trend in the SHIB price. The broader market is still weak, and SHIB has not yet shown the sustained buying pressure that would normally signal a stronger recovery move.
