Bitcoin heads into September at around $78,656 after spending the final stretch of August moving sideways. The BTC price hasn’t been able to reclaim the $80,000 level, but it also hasn’t broken below key support. That leaves traders watching closely for the next major move.
Away from the charts, adoption continues to move forward. Strategy added another 4,603 BTC between August 24 and August 30, spending roughly $369.7 million at an average price of $80,318 per coin. The company now holds 845,050 BTC worth about $63.73 billion, reinforcing its position as the largest corporate Bitcoin holder.

Interest in Bitcoin’s Origins Returns
Bitcoin’s history also found its way back into the conversation this week. BSCN News reported that Galaxy Research head Alex Thorn joined an ongoing effort to solve a puzzle connected to Satoshi Nakamoto’s Genesis Block.

Galaxy Research head Alex Thorn (@intangiblecoins) has joined the hunt for a Bitcoin bitcoin:native puzzle tied to Satoshi Nakamoto’s Genesis Block.

The challenge is based on data embedded inside Bitcoin’s first block from 2009 and requires participants to derive two separate keys from the same Genesis Block field. Thorn says he’s already tested over 19.3 billion candidate scripts. The reward for cracking the puzzle is 142,779 satoshis, worth about $111.
The puzzle itself probably won’t move Bitcoin’s price, but it’s another reminder that people are still fascinated by Bitcoin’s origin story, almost 20 years later. That kind of interest doesn’t fade easily.

There’s also growing interest from traditional finance. Russia’s largest bank, Sberbank, plans to accept Bitcoin, Ether, and USDT as collateral for loans once the country’s new crypto regulations allow public trading. Developments like this continue to strengthen Bitcoin’s role within the broader financial system.

Bitcoin Is Stuck Between Key Levels
We analysed the Bitcoin chart. Price is hanging around $78,656. The latest 4-hour candle formed a tiny doji between $78,500 and $78,712, basically a standoff. Neither side is winning. Volume is also dead quiet.

That usually means a bigger move is brewing. The big level overhead is still $80,000. Break that, and $84,000 is next, then $88,000. So we’re just waiting for something to give. Support is at $76,000, with $72,000 and $68,000 below if selling picks up. Momentum is all over the place, RSI is at 54.11, just above neutral.
But the Bitcoin chart is showing three bearish divergences, which means momentum has been fading even as price tries to hold steady. The Ultimate Oscillator is at 56.58, neutral overall, but it doesn’t take the downside risk off the table. So yeah, risk is still there.
Where Could the BTC Price Go Next?
As September begins, the BTC price finds itself caught between improving fundamentals and cautious technical signals. Institutional demand remains active, Strategy continues to add to its holdings, and traditional financial institutions are finding new ways to integrate digital assets.
The chart, however, is still asking for confirmation. If buyers can push the BTC price above $80,000, attention would quickly turn to $84,000 and then $88,000. A move through those levels would put Bitcoin back on a much stronger footing heading deeper into September.
If support at $76,000 gives way, sellers could take aim at $72,000, then $68,000. A bigger correction might even bring $64,000 into play. For now, Bitcoin is stuck between $76,000 support and $80,000 resistance. September might start quietly, but the chart indicates it’s coiling up for something bigger.
