The developers behind the popular meme coin Shiba Inu have provided updates on the progress of their layer-2 scaling solution, Shibarium.
In a recent blog post, the lead developer, known pseudonymously as Kaal Dhairya expressed congratulations to the ShibArmy community for reaching milestones of 1 million wallets and nearly 1 million transactions on the network. Dhairya touted Shibarium as one of the fastest and cheapest layer 2 networks available.
Dhairya noted that a hosted version of the Blockscout block explorer is now available on Shibariumscan. This allows the protocol team to focus on upgrades while Blockscout keeps the explorer running and the chain indexed.

Show more +Users are encouraged to verify contracts on Shibariumscan and projects built on Shibarium will soon be promoted, contingent on contract verification. Dhairya also shared the verified contract address for WBONE and listed newly bridged tokens including USDT, USDC, DAI, and WBTC.
Additionally, Dhairya mentioned upcoming plans to renounce the Bone contract and add more validators to the network. Shibarium’s primary focus going forward will be building new innovations on top of the protocol. The team hopes to empower the community to build on Shibarium as well.
In a separate tweet, team member Lucie emphasized the need for community adoption of Shibarium, noting it won’t burn SHIB without use. Onboarding users will require time and effort. Higher fees are expected with increased usage per network economics.
Overall, the Shiba Inu developers continue to build out Shibarium’s capabilities but require community participation to drive adoption. They aim to foster an ecosystem of projects leveraging Shibarium’s speed and low fees.
