Silver Price Today: Analyst Warns a Crash Could Send XAG/USD to…

Silver is trading around $57.42 after bouncing from the $57 area, but the short-term chart still looks fragile.

Trader PremiumTrader57 argues that XAG/USD is compressing beneath a descending bearish trendline after failing near $58.00. The key battle is now the $57.00-$57.10 support shelf.

His setup is simple: either that support gives way and opens another drop, or buyers finally break the trendline and force a relief bounce.

Silver Price Forecast: $57 Is the Level That Decides the Setup

On the one-hour chart, silver has spent the past several sessions making lower highs beneath the descending trendline.

That structure matters because every rebound has so far run into sellers before silver price could build sustained momentum.

The current support area sits around $57.00-$57.10.

If silver closes decisively below that zone on the one-hour timeframe, PremiumTrader57 expects downside continuation toward $55.50, which is the recent swing base and his primary bearish target.

From roughly $57.42, that would represent a decline of about 3.3%.

The chart also shows why the analyst is cautious about the current bounce. Price is reacting from support, but it has not yet cleared the trendline that has controlled the decline.

So a green candle near $57 is not enough by itself.

What Would Turn the Silver Setup Bullish?

The bullish scenario starts with a successful defense of $57.

From there, silver needs to break above the descending trendline and establish a clean one-hour close above roughly $57.60-$57.65.

That would invalidate the immediate breakdown thesis and open the door toward the larger resistance zone at $58.60-$58.80.

That area is important because it previously acted as support before the latest leg lower.

So the roadmap is fairly clean:

$57 holds → break $57.60-$57.65 → target $58.60-$58.80.

The bearish path is:

lose $57 → acceleration lower → target $55.50.

For me, the most important part is that silver is currently trapped between support and descending resistance.

Until one side breaks, this is still compression.

If $57 gives way first, PremiumTrader57’s $55.50 target becomes much more credible. If buyers reclaim $57.65, the setup shifts toward a relief move back into the upper-$58 area.
