Silver price is trying to recover after another difficult stretch that pushed the metal toward the $56 area.
The latest four-hour chart from October 16 shows silver near $57.19 after recently dipping into the mid-$55s. That comes after a broader decline from late-August levels near $70, so the metal is still working through a much weaker structure than it had several weeks ago.
What makes the current setup interesting is that buyers have reacted again around the $55-$56 region. That does not confirm a bottom, but it gives the market a clear level to work with.

Silver Is Trying to Build a Base Near $56
The recent silver price drop briefly pushed momentum into deeply oversold territory before buyers stepped back in.
RSI has recovered to roughly 41 from readings near the low-20s during the latest decline. That means selling pressure has cooled, but momentum is still below the neutral 50 level.
In practical terms, silver is no longer as stretched as it was during the selloff, but bulls have not yet regained control.
The $55.50-$56 area is therefore becoming the most important near-term support.
If that region continues to hold, silver has room to work back toward $58.50-$59. A stronger recovery would then bring $60-$62 into focus.

That $60-$62 area is especially important because it has acted as resistance during recent rebounds.
What Would Make the Recovery More Convincing?
A simple bounce from $56 is not enough to change the broader picture.
Silver has been producing lower highs since the late-August peak, so buyers need to start reclaiming levels that previously rejected price.
The first step would be a move above $58.50-$59.
A break through $60 would improve sentiment further, but the more meaningful technical shift would come above $62. That would give silver a better chance of moving toward the $64-$66 region.
The downside risk is equally clear.
If $55.50 fails decisively, the next support area is around $53-$54. A deeper selloff could then expose the $52 region.

Short- to Mid-Term Silver Price Outlook
The setup looks more balanced than it did during the initial crash.
Silver has found buyers near the recent lows, RSI has recovered, and the market is no longer in an extreme oversold condition.
But the recovery still needs proof.
A hold above $56 followed by a move through $59-$60 would strengthen the rebound case. If silver can later clear $62, the mid-term outlook becomes much more constructive.
If buyers lose $55.50 instead, the current rebound would start looking more like a temporary pause inside the larger downtrend.
So the next move probably comes down to two levels: $56 on the downside and $60-$62 on the upside.
