Here’s the Story (IP) Price If the $100M Buyback Finishes by February 2026

Story (IP) price is making steady progress while its foundation ramps up one of the largest buyback programs in the market.

The Story Foundation confirmed it has already completed more than 60% of its planned purchases and will now expand the program from $82 million to $100 million, extending the deadline to February 1, 2026.

By then, the foundation expects to deploy the entire amount directly into open-market IP buys – a move designed to reduce supply and strengthen price stability after a volatile few months.

At writing, the IP price trades around $3.85, showing mild gains today. The announcement comes as the project works to rebuild investor confidence following recent sell pressure.

Despite the volatility, several new partnerships and integrations suggest that Story Protocol is gradually stabilizing.

On November 11, Crypto.com partnered with Nasdaq-listed IP Strategy to custody and stake 52.5 million IP tokens, worth roughly $230 million. It’s the first time a public company has added IP tokens to its reserves, a strong signal that institutions see real value in Story’s programmable intellectual property framework.

This partnership confirms that tokenized IP could become a serious use case for blockchain beyond DeFi and gaming. Even though IP’s short-term price reaction was modest – up 2.2% in 24 hours – traders see this as a foundation for long-term adoption.

With the buyback program expanding and institutional players stepping in, the conditions for a recovery are improving.

Despite the positive headlines, the IP price is still down about 43% over the past 30 days. Trading volume has surged 102%, but liquidity remains concentrated in a few markets, which keeps volatility high.

Earlier this month, an audit revealed smart contract vulnerabilities, causing an 88% drop in daily active users and triggering a wave of small sell-offs.

That’s why this expanded buyback program matters. By committing an extra $18 million for open-market purchases, the Story Foundation is making a clear statement of long-term belief.

If buybacks continue at the current pace and market sentiment improves, the $4.50–$5.00 range could be within reach in the near term.

Story (IP) Price Outlook

The price chart still looks fragile, but sentiment is slowly turning positive. If the buyback stays consistent and institutional demand continues to build, the Story (IP) price could climb toward $6–$7 by early 2026 – an upside of around 50%–80% from current levels.

However, if network adoption doesn’t improve, the token might retest $3 before finding a solid base. For now, the buyback program remains the strongest bullish driver, and the next few months leading up to February will show whether Story (IP) can turn this momentum into a lasting recovery.
