New Evidence Points to Alameda and FTX’s Involvement in the Creation of Bald

BaldBaseBald deployer has been a topic of intrigue for many. This entity, suspected to be someone from Alameda, has been making waves in the DeFi community. However, it’s not entirely clear if this is the work of Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of FTX, or another individual.

A Twitter thread shared by Igor Igamberdiev, a researcher, shares some interesting finds. The BaldBaseBald deployer has been linked to a significant amount of funds, with the leading exchanges used being Binance, FTX, and Coinbase. However, the identity of the individual behind the deployer remains a mystery.

A closer look at the transaction history reveals a connection to an old wallet that was highly active in 2019 and 2020, trading on Oasis DEX, 0x v2.1, dYdX v2, Set Protocol, and more. Such activity requires substantial capital and technical capabilities, narrowing down the list of potential individuals behind the deployer.

Interestingly, this old wallet has primarily interacted with offshore exchanges, with a significant share of transactions involving FTX. The wallet has also been associated with an ex-top trader on dYdX v3, voted for the first proposals on SushiSwap, received POAP from the Yearn launch, and used millions of USD to farm COMP, SUSHI, BDP, SWRV, CREAM, and STG. These actions suggest a highly active and knowledgeable individual or entity at the helm.

Given the track record and the lack of contacts with other players in the crypto space, it’s plausible to suggest that the BaldBaseBald deployer could be someone from Alameda. However, the question remains: is it Sam Bankman-Fried or another individual?

The activity of the original wallet ceased last summer, around the same time when the BaldBaseBald deployer activity started. This coincided with Sam Trabucco stepping down as co-CEO of Alameda Research. However, it seems unlikely that Sam Bankman-Fried could transfer over $40M through Coinbase without raising eyebrows. The source of funds and KYC would need to be verified, and the FTX auditors should be aware of any transactions involving Sam Bankman-Fried’s address.

In conclusion, while the BaldBaseBald deployer is likely someone from Alameda, the exact identity remains a mystery. The individual behind the deployer is clearly well-versed in the crypto space, with significant capital and technical capabilities.
