For many investors, that long wait has been frustrating. But for others, the real focus isn’t on the short-term pain. It’s on the long-term potential.

At the current price, $500 gets you about 37 million SHIB tokens. That’s a big number of coins for what feels like a pretty small investment. The question is, what might those tokens be worth 15 years from now?
According to TheCryptoBasic, both ChatGPT and Elon Musk’s xAI chatbot Grok have shared predictions for SHIB future. The range of outcomes is, to put it lightly, all over the place.
ChatGPT says that in a conservative scenario, SHIB price might trade anywhere between $0.00003 and $0.001 by 2040. That would put the value of your 37 million tokens somewhere between a modest $1,100 and a much more exciting $37,000.
In a stronger growth scenario, where Shiba Inu builds out its ecosystem and adoption ramps up, it could climb into the $0.005 to $0.017 range. That would mean your $500 stake balloons into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
And then there’s the ultra-bullish case. If SHIB burns keep cutting supply and utility grows beyond expectations, ChatGPT suggests the price could jump as high as $0.05–$0.089 by 2040. If that plays out, your little $500 bet could be worth $1.8 to $3.3 million. Yes, million.
Grok’s outlook is similar but comes at it from a slightly different angle. It sees SHIB price trading at $0.00018 in a cautious case, still a nice gain, turning your $500 into about $6,600.

Its mid-range forecast puts SHIB around $0.0069, which would value your tokens at more than $250,000. And just like ChatGPT, Grok’s top bullish scenario also hits $0.089, with the same multi-million dollar potential.
Of course, this is all speculation. The crypto market changes fast, and no one can guarantee SHIB will still be relevant in 2040.
The project’s team is trying to keep momentum alive with new governance moves like community elections, but institutional interest is still missing, and that could hold SHIB price back from hitting those wild numbers.
