This is made possible mostly by bridges that allow cross-chain transfers to take place, and below, we\u2019ll take a look at two methods &#8211; Zapper Bridge and Polygon Wallet V2- with which users can transfer their Ethereum tokens from its native blockchain to that of Polygon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_are_Blockchain_Bridges\"><\/span>What are Blockchain Bridges?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide new1\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/captainaltcoin.com\/de\/blockchain-defi-bridges\/\" target=\"_blank\">Blockchain bridges, also known as cross-chain bridges<\/a>, serve to connect two different blockchains for the purposes of transferring data and tokens from one to the other. Due to the sometimes fundamental differences between blockchains, regular transfer of data is impossible, which is where these bridges come in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gaps between these blockchains tend to isolate great projects and prevent them from reaching their full potential, as communication is a vital aspect of progress. It currently supports over 54 <a href=\"https:\/\/captainaltcoin.com\/de\/binance-smart-chain-coins\/\" target=\"_blank\">DeFi platforms<\/a> in total, and as of May 2020, has seen over $2.4 Billion in assets invested through its platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More relevant for our purposes is Zapper\u2019s bridge that allows for the transfer of tokens from the <a href=\"https:\/\/captainaltcoin.com\/de\/yield-aggregators-auf-ethereum\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ethereum blockchain<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/polygon.technology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Polygon<\/a> blockchain, and among those tokens of course is <a href=\"https:\/\/ethereum.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">ETH<\/a>. It currently only supports a one-way transfer from <a href=\"https:\/\/captainaltcoin.com\/ethereum-staking-eth-pos\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ethereum<\/a> to Polygon, but changes and additions are tokens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%9A%A1_How_it_works\"><\/span>\u26a1 How it works<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide new2\"\/>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>Upon visiting Zapper\u2019s website users can immediately connect their wallets by clicking on <strong>Connect Wallet<\/strong>, or by copy-pasting their ETH address in the address bar.<br><br><\/li><li>If chosen to connect a wallet, it will open a small window presenting the user with a variety of <a href=\"https:\/\/captainaltcoin.com\/de\/krypto-wallets\/\" target=\"_blank\">wallets<\/a> they can use, and they are: <a href=\"https:\/\/captainaltcoin.com\/de\/?p=54282\" target=\"_blank\">MetaMask<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/captainaltcoin.com\/de\/ledger-wallet-staking\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ledger<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/captainaltcoin.com\/de\/trezor-wallet-erfahrungen\/\" target=\"_blank\">Trezor<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portis.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Portis<\/a>, <a Wallet<\/a>.<br><br><\/li><li>Afterwards, users can proceed to the dashboard where they can find the bridge option on the left side of the page.<br><br><\/li><li>Clicking on <strong>Bridge<\/strong> will lead them to the bridge itself, where users start by connecting a wallet if necessary.<br><br><\/li><li>Users can then begin selecting the token, which in this case is ETH, as well as the transferring and receiving blockchains which in this case are Ethereum and Polygon respectively.<br><br><\/li><li>Lastly, users can adjust the transaction settings which include the slippage tolerance percentage, the transaction speed (and consequently the gas fees) as well as the allowance state (limited or unlimited).<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>After filling in all these details all that is left is to click <strong>Confirm<\/strong> to kick off the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_Polygon_Web_Wallet_V2\"><\/span>What is Polygon Web Wallet V2?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide new1\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wallet.matic.network\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Polygon Web Wallet V2<\/a> is the latest version of the platform\u2019s wallet which can use the Polygon bridge to transfer Ethereum assets to the Polygon blockchain. Doing so opens up the web wallet where all of the user\u2019s assets are displayed.<br><br><\/li><li>Next, users can click on <strong>Move funds from Ethereum to Polygon<\/strong> to begin the transfer process.<br><br><\/li><li>Here, they need to select the token, which in this case is ETH, as well as the amount the user wishes to transfer. The two chains are already set as from Ethereum to Polygon, and currently cannot be changed.<br><br><\/li><li>By clicking on <strong>Transfer<\/strong> a disclaimer pops up that contains important information regarding the transfer process such as deposit times and unsupported actions.<br><br><\/li><li>By clicking <strong>Continue<\/strong>, the user will be shown an overview of the transfer that contains information regarding the estimated total gas required for the transaction, i.e. the transfer fee.<br><br><\/li><li>Lastly, clicking on <strong>Continue<\/strong> once more will lead to the confirmation screen where the user can view the transaction details and click <strong>Continue<\/strong> to confirm the transfer.<br><br><\/li><li>All users need to do now is confirm the transaction from the wallet they connected to ensure a successful transfer.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the transaction is confirmed the user will see a <strong>Transfer in Progress<\/strong> popup which will show them the deposit status.
